Hands are probably one of the most used members of our body and when we injure them or have a disability we feel limited and depend on others for more everyday tasks such as eating, dressing, grooming…

They are complex members composed of a network of bones, ligaments, pulleys, flexor and extensor tendons, muscles, nerves and vessels. Each hand has 27 bones, eight in the metacarpus, 5 metacarpals and 14 phalanges; the joints between the bones are reinforced by a group of ligaments and also have the flexor and extensor muscles.

Since they are always exposed and unprotected they are at high risk of suffering injuries such as sprains, fractures, tendonitis and tendinosis, produced by blows, falls, impacts, repetitive movements or overexertion at work. These injuries can be temporary or remain in time causing a disability.

They are also affected by osteoarthritis and arthritis that cause pain, weakness, lack of strength and even deformations in the fingers that prevent handling the most common objects. In addition, disability in the hands can be caused by stroke, brain disease or some congenital cause.

In these cases, the Ubiotex glove improves the grip of such everyday objects as cutlery, considerably improving the quality of life. Its curved design keeps the fingers inside to help hold the object firmly in place so that it can be used safely, whether for everyday use, work or hobbies and sports.

If we suspect an injury, pain or deformation, we should consult a professional, as a delay in diagnosis and treatment can lead to problems of greater duration and severity and even disability.
